Little Lady

Madeline is growing up so fast.....15 mos old now!

No BULL!

There comes a time when all children are afraid of Santa, the Easter Bunny and even Wool E. Bull! For us, that time is now! Aidan and Madeline prefer viewing Wool E from a distance. After waiting in line an eternity to see him, I insisted on getting the picture taken.

So Much Fun Together

Can it get any better than this? Aidan and Madeline are becoming best friends. He has helped ensure that she will be one tough little sister. She is the little sister that keeps big brother in line! They are having so much fun together.

Chicago

We attended Aunt Therese's wedding in Chicago and had fun seeing all the Plachetka relatives. The family is growing with several little ones. Aidan and Madeline had a great time seeing their cousins, especially Jerry. It was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding...Aidan actually fell asleep during the ceremony and slept through the beginning of the reception. Madeline didn't sleep a wink-didn't want to miss anything! We headed to Gram's for a post-party after the reception where we got a game of baseball going. Aidan was in heaven!

Aidan is 3

Aidan is three....yippee! We've been celebrating all month long! First cake and presents in Wisconsin, then fun times in Chicago and now in NC. Aidan helped Mommy make the chocolate cake he requested--this fun for both of us! We had a small baseball party tonight to celebrate. Baseball is Aidan's favorite thing now. He loves the Durham Bulls, the Cubs and hitting the ball. Following the celebration, we had a game in the yard. Aidan hit 2 homers!!!! The day was complete when Aidan received a "big boy bike" (like his cousin Jerry in Chicago) and we did the happy-happy birthday conga line.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Aidan and Madeline attended Wool E. Bull's birthday party (Durham Bulls mascot) and it was a blast. The Bulls won the game by one run and the kids got to run the bases after the game. There were home runs, batters hit by a pitch and even a bench clearing event for the players...luckily no punches thrown but there were a few ejections. The night was action packed! All the local mascots were present including the Tarheel mascot, Wolfpack mascots, Stormy (the Carolina Hurricanes mascot) and many more. There were over a dozen mascots in attendance! The kids weren't sure what to think at first but ending up loving every minute.

4th of July!

The Smiths celebrated the week of the 4th in Door County, WI. We hit the parade at Egg Harbor, Julie's for cherry pie and did the Hairpin 5K. We also enjoyed fireworks, baseball, golfing, jet skiing and boating. Aidan and Madeline got to meet their cousin, Jerry, from Chicago and many other Plachetka relatives through out the course of the week.
