Happy New Year!

Happy New Year
Here's to a Great 2008!

Merry Christmas!

We celebrated our First Carolina Christmas this year! It was wonderful to sleep in our own beds and have Santa come to our house. We opened presents and Aidan was happy to get a garbage truck, chicken little and hockey goal/stick among other things. The kitchen set for both kids was a big hit! It was a great day of celebration and relaxing! Merry Christmas to ALL!

Visiting Santa Claus

Our visit to Santa didn't go super well for Madeline. Aidan did great and told Santa he wants Chicken Little (the movie) and a garbage truck. We're told this picture has some similarities to one of Ryan with his siblings when he was little. We'll get the picture posted ASAP.

Reindeer Dust

The Smith kids have implemented a new holiday tradition to help Santa and his reindeer find our house since we've moved! A friend gave us some reindeer dust (made up of oats and silver sparkles) to sprinkle on our front law to assist the big guy in locating us. Here are Aidan and Madeline in auction on Christmas Eve!

The Polar Express

We took their kids to their first movie at the theater. We saw the IMAX version of The Polar Express in Raleigh at Marble Kids Museum. This is Aidan's favorite movie and Madeline likes it as well. Both kids did great once we got past the initial speaker demonstration. It felt like we were riding the train ourselves! WOW! We're hoping this will be a new Smith Holiday Tradition to see the movie every year at Christmas time.

Let the FUN begin

Madeline and Aidan opened their first Christmas presents from some great friends in the neighborhood. Madeline loves her baby (Aidan likes it too) and Aidan was able to really hit some great shots with his new wiffle ball pitching machine. We've started early so that everyone can enjoy the kids opening their gifts. In addition, Madeline has taken a great liking to shoes (CROCS especially...that is all she wants to wear!) and headbands. She is sporting the Olivia Newton John look in the photo posted. We got many laughs out of this one!

Making Ornaments

Aidan wanted to do holiday crafts this year, so the three of us (Aidan, Madeline and Mommy) have been busy making ornaments! This is what the holidays is all about!

Christmas Parade

Madeline's school asked us to ride on their fire truck for the Chapel Hill Christmas parade. It was quite an event riding on top as we toured downtown Chapel Hill on Franklin Street through UNC campus! The last time we went to this parade, Mommy was a brownie riding in the back of a Dominos Pizza truck. How things have changed!

Here Come the Holidays

Ice Skating

Nana and Baba took Aidan ice skating for the 1st time last weekend. He did great. It was amazing how much he improved during the time we were there. He wants to be a hockey player...does a great impression of the Canes' goalie Cam Ward!
