Winter ICE storm

The freezing rain has been coming down since Friday afternoon now and it looks like we're in for a weekend full of this weather. We haven't done much, but Aidan has wanted to go out and play in the ice/snow. It is solid ice out there and when you walk you slip and slide. It's so frozen solid you don't even leave footprints behind! Aidan is much happier now that he has a set of gloves, courtesy of Aunts Amy and Katie. The last storm we had wasn't fun for him to play in because his hands got too cold.

Eight Months Old

Madeline is 8 mos old now and she is a mover and shaker just like her brother. WOW, this girl is growing up! She has 6 teeth now, 4 on top and 2 on bottom! She isn't too nice about letting us in her mouth without chomping on our fingers, but we suspect 2 more bottom ones are coming in right now. Recently, she caught the bug going around and we had to start breathing treatments with a nebulizer to help clear it up. She is doing much better now, thank goodness! She is crawling backward and making her way side to side and forward. She is becoming quite independent and calls for us by saying "DA DA DA DA." Her eating continues to entertain us. She wants to be just like Aidan and has enjoyed foods (we never would have given her until she threw such a fit) like pizza, chili, fish sticks, etc. We mush them up and she goes to town.

Happy New Year!

Happy 2007 to all! Madeline now has 3 teeth and weighs 20 lbs! She is eating table food exclusively and plucks Aidan's trains off the track as the attempt to motor past her. Aidan is showing great interest in sharing his toys with her but gets her baby dolls to divert her from playing with his trains. They are "my trains" according to Aidan. Madeline is officially in the "busy phase" as she attempts crawling and is taking serious notes as she watches the things Aidan does on a daily basis. I can tell we are going to have a very busy year!

Merry Christmas

What a merry Christmas we had this year. We kicked off festivities with presents when MawMaw, PawPaw and Aunt Erinne came to Tulsa the weekend before Christmas Day. Highlights of this included the Thomas the Train table for Aidan. Madeline was most excited about ribbons and paper for her 1st Christmas!

We attended the children's mass at Holy Family on Christmas eve and started our own tradition of wearing red jammies and reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas to the children. Santa arrived at our home on Christmas morning with lots of goodies and we enjoyed a quiet Christmas day as a family. We had a nice turkey dinner, watched the Polar Express and some football. Madeline ate her first real meal of table food...she wants to be like Aidan. Her new diet consists of mainly crackers, cheerios and any other soft table food she can get her hands on.

After Christmas we ventured out to NC to see the Plachetkas. Madeline was excited to receive her shiny new rattle in a pretty blue box. I think she liked the box the most!!!
